The word mentor has been flung about like your success depends solely on this one criteria. It puts pressure on people to seek out that one elusive mentor that will guide them to the path of success. When I think of mentors, I think of someone who takes an active role in guiding a person to do greater things. They could be part of your support group.
I think mentors are a small/medium part of your success. They give you a boost but it's mainly your actions and what you do that makes you a success.
