I love being a girl – I am an emotional creature Posted in Personal, Sisterhood on March 31st, 2010

This post is for the ladies out there (and the men who love us ladies). I am, as you know (and I really hope this was obvious) a girl. And as a girl I tend to do things like a girl. I’m hopelessly indecisive, I ‘focus’ on 5 different things at once, talk a mile a minute and love the process of creation.

Creating a business was both stressful and fun for me. Fun because I got to come up with and create something new and stressful because I was surrounded by men and the way men do things – which i thought was the ‘right’ way – and as such, would cause so much stress in me because it was not the way I would do things.

So for all the ladies out there, venturing out I would just like to remind you, that we can do things ‘our’ way. It will be different but it will still get us where we want and cause us a whole lot less stress doing so!

I leave you with a super awesome video by my sistah Eve Ensler!

I absolutely LOVE this talk! Please leave your comment of your experience of being a woman and venturing out on your own! I would love to hear from you!

xoxo

Thank you sooo much for posting this video! I cried like a GIRL at several parts, and I am saying that with pride :)

I can relate with you on being stressed out for not being 'manly' enough in my thinking and doing. I am totally rubbish at organising and structuring things, but I am always full of ideas and am always excited at implementing them.

I am lucky in a way that my first business is in a perfect niche of women customer (I teach Middle Eastern Dance/Belly Dancing and conduct events for women!), so all that thinking and analysis is balanced out by all the dancing! ;)

I am learning to be a better woman entrepreneur everyday and I am hoping to build my business 'the girl' way ;)
